Langhe DOC
Produced with 100% Freisa grapes. Freisa is an indigenous varietal grown almost exclusively in the Langhe region of Piedmont. It had its big expansion at the end of the 19th century because of its resistance to downy mildew. The vine has a parent-offspring relationship with Nebiolo and as such produces wines with complex tannins. La Collina grapes were produced in marly deposits on the high slope hills of Treiso from vines 15 years old hedged in well spaced trellises and pruned with the Guyot system.

Harvest and Crush Notes
The grapes were hand harvested on October 6, 2012. They have been fermented dry and exposed to a 6 day maceration. Aging was done for 6 months in stainless steel to preserve the delicate natural aroma and flavor profile. Modern winemaking technology was used to minimize bitter tannins and enhance appetizing aromas and flavors.
Winemaker Comments
Medium intensity ruby color with purple hues. Fermented dry with subdued elegant frothiness. Pleasing aromas of mountain strawberries, raspberries and blueberries with violet and almond notes. Medium body, long finish and moderate acidity with complex fruit flavors. Great partner for cold cuts, tomato sauce pasta, linguine clams and herbed poultry.
