Varietal and Terroir
This white wine is made with 100% Malvasia Moscata grapes, a varietal with complex aromas that grows well in the Piedmont hills close to the western Alps in Northern Italy. In Barge, where the wine is produced, moraine deposits with a mix of silts, sands and pebbles of high mineral content, excellent water drainage and cool summer climate with terse sunshine offer an ideal terroir for growing high quality Malvasia Moscata grapes.
Harvest and Crush Notes
The grapes were handpicked at the peak of aromatic maturity the last week of September. After de-stemming and a 24 hrs cold maceration, the berries were cold pressed and the juice fermented dry at 65F to preserve the delicate aromas. The wine has been aged unoaked for 6 months before bottling.
